Our Story
Piano Teachers Connect was born in 2009. Founder Jonah Cristall-Clarke had completed studies in jazz piano at the University of Toronto, and moved to London, UK to explore new avenues for creating and sharing musical ideas and his passion for the piano.
Our first website, jazzpianoteacherslondon.co.uk, filled a niche demand, and Jonah was quickly connecting with students across Greater London for jazz piano lessons, offering a tailored approach that focused on his students’ musical interests, learning styles, and needs. Traveling by bicycle, tube, and train to piano students’ homes across London, he covered a wide area. Although Jonah loved exploring this amazing city, he realized that by connecting with other piano teachers he could build a network and community and help more piano students find their ideal teachers.
Londonpianoteachers.co.uk was launched in 2010, expanding our scope to classical, jazz, and pop/rock piano teachers and their students of all ages and levels. Some students were now traveling to their piano teachers’ homes for lessons too.
In 2011 Jonah said farewell to London, and began to offer online piano lessons as a way of staying connected with students while moving about. This too proved to fill a niche that would greatly expand in popularity in the early 2020s. Onlinepianoteachers.com brings together hundreds of piano teachers and students around the world in over 60 countries.
Today Piano Teachers Connect offers piano lessons online worldwide and in-person in London, UK, Toronto, Canada, and the United States.
