Marcelo: Online Piano Teacher
Our online piano teacher Marcelo offers pop/rock and jazz piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 12 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Piano Performance degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Marcelo has been teaching piano lessons since 1990. This piano teacher is an internationally active musician with over 40 years of professional experience, specializing in Brazilian popular music (MPB), with a strong focus on choro, samba, bossa nova, frevo, and baião. He is also skilled in jazz and Argentine music, and for advanced students he teaches piano arrangement. Marcelo was a pianist with the Brasil Jazz Sinfônica Orchestra for over 25 years, during which time he performed as a soloist in over 300 concerts. He recorded 5 albums with this orchestra, and has also recorded numerous other solo and ensemble pieces. He has also performed as a guest conductor in several concerts. Marcelo is a talented composer, and has written symphonic arrangements for artists of a wide variety of styles. This piano teacher regularly shares his work on his YouTube channel, where he has ten playlists, one of which is dedicated to symphonic arrangements. As a music educator, he has authored numerous piano courses, such as Popular Piano for Classical Pianists, Popular Piano Program, Aesthetics and Music in Cinema, and The “Ghelfi Method” for MPB Pianists. He has worked as a lecturer in university settings and led masterclasses on music in cinema. In Marcelo’s teaching practice, technical exercises are developed and applied through diverse rhythmic, harmonic, and stylistic languages, including that of MPB.
