Fergus: Online Piano Teacher
Our online piano teacher Fergus offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 7 and above, from beginner to advanced levels. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree and a wealth of music experience and knowledge from working in the theatre industry. Fergus has been teaching piano lessons since 2025. In his career, this piano teacher has performed in many different groups, from wedding bands to theatre pit bands and everything in between. He is classically trained, but has a love for jazz piano, which informs much of his playing. He predominately has performed in groups and is very knowledgeable in piano improvisation and responding to other musicians. With a professional specialization in theater, Fergus is sought after for his work as a musical director for a wide variety of productions, particularly in fringe theater. He has worked extensively with the sketch comedy show NewsRevue, performing hundreds of shows to crowds of over 400 people. He has also accompanied chamber choirs, worked as an organ scholar, and played background jazz at corporate events. He works regularly as an accompanist for solo musical theatre singers, groups, and improv shows. In addition to playing piano, Fergus works professionally as a sound designer and composer and uses these experiences to inform his teaching. As a piano educator, he emphasizes musicianship, listening skills, and playing with enjoyment and passion. He focuses on building technical ability through playing and not just as a means to an end. Fergus is eager to share his passion for jazz and classical piano with his new students.
