Our online piano teacher Michael offers classical and pop/rock piano lessons for ages 12 and above, from beginner to very advanced. This piano teacher has a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Michael has been teaching piano lessons since 2008. In addition to his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Manhattan School of Music, he earned his Bachelor of Music degree with honors from Mannes College of Music and a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School, studying under numerous renowned musicians at each school. Michael’s piano talents have earned him many awards, such as the Kamiya Sisters Piano Scholarship, the Susan W. Rose Piano Scholarship, the Celia and Joseph Ascher Fund for Piano Award at Juilliard School, and the Piano Scholarship and Doctoral Fellowship at the Manhattan School of Music. He has appeared as a soloist throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. The third album of his Liszt series on Odradek Records received favorable reviews in Fanfare Magazine and MusicWeb International and his next album, “Liszt Complete Piano Music, Vol. 69,” is scheduled for a June 2026 release. Michael's scholarly articles in the field of musicology have been published in the International Review of the Aesthetics and Sociology of Music, Problemy Muzykal’noj Nauki, and Innovation Art Studies. He is a Steinway & Sons educational partner and on the Harlem School of the Arts (NYC) piano faculty. He has taught in a variety of music settings, working with all age groups, from young children to graduate-level students. Michael brings advanced and diverse experiences as a performer and teacher to his piano lessons, and he looks forward to working with students at any level.
