Our online piano teacher Kyla offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 6 and above, from beginner to intermediate levels. This piano teacher has a Master of Music degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Kyla has been teaching piano lessons since 2015. She is a highly-educated musician, earning three degrees in music: a Bachelor of Composition and Music Production, a Master of Recording Arts, and a Master of Music Technology. She is particularly interested in the fusion of music and technology, which led her towards contemporary style in both performance and production. Through composing, music producing, recording, mixing, audio engineering, and directing, the hands-on industry experience that she has had reflects her enthusiasm for piano in all its modern day applications. She worked on one of China’s most popular music talent shows, where she participated in music scoring, creating arrangements for songs, final judging, and more. Kyla founded her own music production and mixing studio in Toronto, where she collaborates with local R&B artists and Chinese pop artists virtually. She currently works as a mentor at Covenant House Toronto, where she supports youth dealing with mental health challenges through the healing power of music, and writes for Treehouse TV, a popular Canadian children’s channel. Kyla is an experienced RCM-certificated teacher who has been teaching piano and music production for over ten years. She specializes in guiding students through the complexities of music production, helping them build impressive portfolios for university applications. Her students have successfully gained admission to top institutions, such as Berklee College of Music and the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music. Kyla emphasizes a thoughtful, student-centered approach that integrates technique, theory, and musical expression. She enjoys sharing her love of music with her students and believes that one can find meaning and identity while learning the piano. She has seen that through gentle encouragement and support, music can bring lifelong joy and self-expression. Kyla believes that by going our own way in music and piano, the way it touches our life can be as unique as we are.
