Sophie: Online Piano Teacher
Our online piano teacher Sophie offers classical and pop/rock piano lessons for ages 5 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Sophie has been teaching piano lessons since 2014. Sophie is an experienced solo pianist who has performed in a variety of formal and academic settings. She has presented multiple solo recitals. Sophie participated in the Coimbra World Piano Meetings, where she performed for internationally acclaimed professors and artists, gaining exposure to diverse teaching styles and musical perspectives. In addition to solo performances, she is an avid collaborator and has worked extensively with both large and small ensembles, including chamber groups, the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble, and the Symphonic Band. Sophie enjoys accompanying and working with musicians across various disciplines, bringing a deep passion for musical collaboration to her performances and teaching. She has served as a piano accompanist for vocal classes at the University of Toronto. In addition to vocal accompaniment, she has extensive experience collaborating with instrumentalists for recitals, examinations, and rehearsals. Sophie is a dedicated and passionate music educator who believes in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for her students. She tailors her approach to each individual, integrating strong technical foundations with creativity, musical expression, and a deeper understanding of interpretation. Sophie finds great joy in guiding piano students of all ages and skill levels, helping them develop a lifelong love for music.
