About Brendan
Our online piano teacher Brendan offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 8 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Master of Music in Piano Performance degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Brendan has been teaching piano lessons since 2014. Brendan has performed as a solo pianist across his local scene, in venues such as the Metro Cinema, Convocation Hall, Nina Haggerty Art Gallery, Kaleido Festival, and the Yardbird suite. Brendan gigs frequently with jazz and pop ensembles around the city. As a pop/rock keyboardist, Brendan has played with a number of artists, including Eamon McGrath, Justine Vandergrift, Calvin Love, Aladean Kheroufi, Lagrimrosa, Trevor McNeely, and others. As a jazz pianist, Brendan has played as sideman for musicians such as Aretha Tillotson, Jacob Do, Allen Jacobsen, Audrey Ochoa, Jon Guenter, Jerrold Dubyk, and Joel Jeschke. Brendan is a sought after accompanist for vocalists, violinists, and students of various instruments. He has accompanied soprano Erin Selin on multiple occasions, as well as the studios of Edmonton's STE (Suzuki), Ken Read's brass studio, and other studios across town. Brendan appears on multiple recordings including "Closet Demon" with him and Leah Harman, a solo improvised piano release, and "Introducing Aretha Tillotson," the debut record of a prominent Canadian bassist. As an expert in improvisation across styles, Brendan can help his students to build a solid, injury-free technique and have an enjoyable piano journey.
