About Louis

Our online piano teacher, Louis, offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 8 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Louis has been teaching piano lessons since 2011. He has extensive experience as a solo pianist, having performed classical piano recitals from an early age and performed in many professional settings as a jazz pianist, including in hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships. He has performed in many different bands, appearing in London venues such as Bar Salsa and Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, and music festivals including Boardmasters and the Mucky Weekender festival in the UK. He is a highly-experienced and adept piano accompanist, having spent his formative years backing up the well-known Brighton and London jazz singer Jenny Dee as part of a successful duo, as well as having gained extensive experience as a top-level cruise ship house band pianist. Whilst studying music at Exeter college, he was awarded the 'musician of the year' prize for recognition of his talents and outstanding creative contributions. His extensive training and impressive range of abilities make him the perfect all-round piano teacher, bridging the gap between classical and jazz piano for the curious learner; covering important technique and foundations whilst giving the freedom to creatively explore and approach things in a personal and meaningful way. Whether it's Chopin or Bill Evans that a student may be looking to learn, Louis has all bases covered.
