About Laya
Our online piano teacher, Laya, offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 4 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor’s degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Laya has been teaching piano lessons since 2009. This pianist and music educator is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher and an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Laya has been teaching piano, solfege, theory, and rudiments to students of all ages and levels for more than 15 years. Her formal studies include Music Education in classical and Iranian instruments as well as Material Ceramic Engineering. Whether teaching to a student with aspirations of pursing music professionally, or someone who simply wants to enjoy and appreciate piano playing, she strives to train well-rounded musicians. She emphasizes vital skills including sight-reading, ear-training, music theory, music history, and living music outside the lessons. Fundamentally, she believes that music learning should be curiosity-driven, active, enjoyable, and emphasize self-expression.
