About Derek
Our online piano teacher Derek teaches piano lessons in all styles of music, up to an advanced level, for ages 10 and above. He has a Bachelor of Music degree and a wealth of experience performing and teaching piano lessons. He has been teaching piano lessons since 2011. This piano teacher performs regularly with jazz ensembles and as a piano soloist in jazz festivals, major jazz clubs and music venues around L.A. such as House of Blues and Hotel Cafe, and in restaurants. Derek is in demand as a session musician for film and other media and has recorded at several major studios, and has appeared playing piano as a stand-in for an actor on television. He is also a keyboardist, DJ, and/or producer for major pop, EDM, and hip-hop artists. This piano teacher's professional experience in a wide range of musical styles allows his piano lessons to be flexible, catered to his students' musical interests and aspirations.
