As a professional performer, this piano teacher has played as a solo pianist and harpist in a variety of settings, including luxury hotels, weddings, corporate functions, and private events, providing elegant music tailored to each occasion. Her playing combines technical excellence with emotional sensitivity, creating memorable musical experiences for diverse audiences. Yuen Ying has also performed as a pianist in small chamber settings, collaborating with other instrumentalists such as harpists and flautists. These performances have included both classical and contemporary repertoire, requiring sensitive ensemble playing, attention to balance, and interpretive flexibility. Yuen Ying’s performance background adds inspiration and professionalism to her teaching. She also has extensive experience as a piano accompanist in both school and community settings, regularly accompanying school choirs, students in music festivals, and vocalists for rehearsals, recitals, and concerts. Yuen Ying is a highly experienced and qualified music educator with a long-standing background in teaching music across different age groups and settings. In addition to her Master of Music degree, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree, a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Education, an ABRSM Advanced Certificate in Piano, Grade 8 in Harp and Music Theory, Qualified Teacher Status in the United Kingdom, and an Advanced Safeguarding Certificate. Yuen Ying has taught in both primary and secondary schools, offering instrumental training, music appreciation, and performance preparation. She has worked closely with students of various learning needs, including those with ADHD and autism, always approaching each student with patience, understanding, and a personalized teaching method.
