About Karlene

Our online piano teacher Karlene offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 5 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree a wealth of experience teaching piano as well as performing vocals and piano. Karlene has been teaching piano lessons since 2000. Karlene performs regularly for a variety of projects, as both a vocalist and instrumentalist in a many different venues and stages. She often performs jazz combinations with vocals and keyboard for local events. This piano teacher has been booked to play and sing at many venues, such as restaurants for events and holiday celebrations, where she performs her own covers of songs from many genres, including R&B, soul, folk, pop, gospel, country and more. She has also performed in music festivals, where she has won top awards for her performances. Karlene is continually seeking opportunities to perform and collaborate with other artists, locally and abroad. She believes that maintaining a performance career as a teacher provides a lens for her students to see what is possible and that the learning never stops. Karlene has also worked in theatre shows creating arrangements and performing them on keyboard. She also has experience providing accompaniment for beginner to advanced singers in her piano studio and
for singers and choirs in her community. Karlene's teaching philosophy is based on guiding students through piano study to create order in their minds and bodies, as well as connect to their innate musicality.
