Online Piano Lessons for Ages 8-17
Piano Teachers Connect believes that learning the piano is a life-long process, and that knowing how to play the piano is a skill that will bring you joy and fulfilment throughout your whole life.
It is a common tale, told again and again: “I took piano lessons when I was younger, but I hated it.” “I took piano lessons as a kid, but haven’t played since.” This “tale” is most often the result of piano lessons that were not designed with the piano student’s interests in mind.
Online piano students between the ages of 8 and 17 have often already developed strong musical interests, a music collection, and inspiring musical role models. It’s common sense that a student’s own musical passions should be the starting point for their development and growth as a pianist and musician.
When teaching online piano lessons to students aged 8 to 17, our goal as piano teachers is foremost to inspire our students and open them up to the wonder, mystery, and excitement of creating music on the piano.

With this goal in mind, we offer flexibility in our online piano lessons for students aged 8-17. Our online piano students can learn to play any style of music - including classical, jazz, and pop/rock - and can take graded piano exams, or not.
Sometimes an excellent option for students in this age range is to include a variety of styles of music in their online piano lessons. Our students can work towards classical or jazz graded exams, which are great sources of motivation, while also learning one of their favourite songs from the radio, their parents’ music collection, or their favourite film or TV show, on the side.
Learning to play the music that you love to listen to is a great way to grow as a pianist, for online piano students of any age. It will develop your ears, and inspire you, and it will be fun!
